Pamela Sue Moore, 44, was the owner of Dedicated Land Title in Springboro, Ohio. Within a few months after she opened DLT in 2007, Moore decided to buy a house. Rather than finance the purchase with a loan, like most of us do, she decided to pay for the purchase with $183,000 which had been placed in DLT’s escrow account by other clients of DLT. She also used DLT’s escrow account to pay $17,000 for office equipment and supplies. On Dec. 23, 2011 she was convicted of theft, a felony of the third degree, and sentenced to a term of two years. It was reported that Chicago Title Insurance Company, DLT’s underwriter, covered the losses incurred by DLT’s clients.
